The Parks Division of the City of Fowler Public Works and Utilities Department is responsible for the maintenance, safety, and beautification of all city parks and designated landscaped areas, including Landscape Maintenance Districts (LMDs). The division is committed to providing high-quality, safe, and clean recreational spaces that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.

Core Responsibilities:
Grounds and Turf Maintenance:
Regular mowing, edging, weed eating, trimming, and fertilization of grass areas to ensure healthy and presentable park grounds.
Irrigation System Management:
Monitoring, repairing, and adjusting irrigation systems to ensure efficient water use and coverage. Includes seasonal adjustments and leak repairs.

Landscape and Tree Care:
Pruning trees and shrubs, removing debris, planting seasonal flowers or groundcover, and mulching planter beds as needed.
Playground and Recreation Equipment Maintenance:
Conducting regular safety inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of playground structures, benches, and picnic tables.
Restroom and Facility Cleaning:
Daily cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking of public restrooms at parks and pavilions. Deep cleaning is performed on a scheduled basis.
Trash and Waste Management:
Emptying trash cans, managing pet waste stations, and ensuring park grounds are free of litter and hazards.
Graffiti and Vandalism Response:
Prompt removal of graffiti and repairs to park infrastructure caused by vandalism or wear-and-tear.
Safety and Accessibility Compliance:
Ensuring parks meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and maintaining surfaces to reduce slip, trip, and fall hazards.
Landscape Maintenance Districts (LMDs):
Maintaining street medians and landscaping within designated residential developments per LMD boundaries and agreements.
